American History - The Financial Revolution

Mr. De Maria Period 2,3,6,7 US History class.

Right now in America, we are going through a revolution, a financial one. We are trying to fix a broken system with more money and debt, in order to prevent a financial meltdown and a depression. As Americans, we can't blame each other, but work together to fix this mess. The blame game is over and it will take real leaders to move America forward. Who will they be?

Assignment: Students will go to a supermarket and find today's prices of the items listed
on pg.727 in the textbook. Students will compare and contrast those prices of
today with those in the 1930's during the last depression.

Directions: Students must write out each question and answer questions.
Students will complete the following assignments that go inconjunction with
Ch 6 - The American Revolution:

Answer Questions 3-6 on pgs 168,176,182 & 187.

Complete SkillBuilder. Answer all questions on pgs 169 & 181.

Copy Chapter 6 Summary on pg 188.

All work will be graded and checked.

· Students will go to “Scoop Shops”. Go to Factory Tours and take a tour. Then Go to From “Cow to Cone” and listen to information.
· Students will go to Ben and Jerry website. You are to go to “Our Products” up top. Go to top ten flavors and type it on MS Word. Number each in order. Do any of them match the World’s top ten flavors. Put a * star next to it.
· Students will go to Flavor Graveyard. Find the top flavors that have been buried. Create a spreadsheet using MS Excel. (Play around with excel till you can make a 3 column and 11 row chart.) List when the flavor , when it was created and buried in the chart.
· Students will then create their own ice cream flavors. You will go to “Flavor Generator” Using MS Excel, students will create a chart of 10 flavors that they created. They can name their flavors whatever they want, no foul language. They will create a chart with 4 columns and 12 rows. They will have columns identifying bases, chunks, swirls and their new flavor. The rows will have the ingredients they used to create their new flavor.

· Students will send me an e-card. You are to go to “Fun Stuff” on top and fill out the information.
· Students have 3 class days to finish this work.
